New Affordable Housing For Twin Cities Veterans
MACV is thrilled to reveal the purchase of a brand-new 29-unit apartment building in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With the support of the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, this acquisition is a significant step toward achieving our goal of putting an end to Veteran homelessness in Minnesota.
Why is this building so special? It’s the perfect affordable housing solution for Veterans working with MACV. Not only is it centrally located, but it also offers an elevator and zero-step units. Every unit in the building will be reserved for Veterans, providing them with a secure and stable place to call home.
“The need for housing for Veterans experiencing homelessness has continued to grow, specifically among seniors 55 and older. We are so excited about Lasalle due to the accessibility components there. Allowing our Veterans to age in place in housing that meets their mobility needs.” – Sara Riegle, MACV Vice President of Property Operations
Just recently, MACV hosted a leasing event at the apartment building. Veterans had the opportunity to tour the place, find out if they qualify for additional support from MACV, and even fill out an application within just one hour.
At MACV, we firmly believe in data-driven solutions to end homelessness among Veterans. We understand that finding a permanent home is a statewide challenge that requires constant dedication. We never give up on any Veteran, no matter the complexities they may face. That’s why we’re constantly adapting and offering various housing opportunities and services to the Veterans we serve.
