MACV At Twin Cities Pride Festival
The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) has been a proud participant at the Twin Cities Pride Festival for many years. This event is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies in the Twin Cities. MACV, a nonprofit organization that helps homeless and at-risk veterans and their families achieve stable housing, was excited to participate in this important community event.
At our booth, we had the opportunity to connect with members of the LGBTQ+ community who have served in the military or have loved ones who have served and to spread general awareness about our mission. Our staff members were on hand to provide information on our services, listen to people’s stories and support those who needed it.
In addition to providing resources and support, our booth was a fun and festive space. We had a wheel to spin, and many won selfies with our staff. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with people in a lighthearted and celebratory way.
Our experience at the Twin Cities Pride Festival was incredibly positive and impactful. At MACV, we are committed to serving ALL Veterans who are experiencing homelessness in Minnesota. We have a strong relationship with Lavender Magazine to reach the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year. To learn more about Lavender Magazine and their first military recruitment ad click here.
We look forward to continuing our participation in this pride festival and building more connections within the Twin Cities community.
