Feature Story

Congratulations to MACV Residential Housing Program Case Manager Norma Ziegler!

The Minnesota Department of Corrections Opportunity for Change (O4C) program received an award from the Minnesota Corrections Association (MCA) at the annual MCA Conference in Nisswa, MN. Along with community partners, the MN DOC, Goodwill Easter Seals and Phoenix Rising, Volunteers of America’s Amicus Services, and our own Norma Ziegler were recognized for their outstanding work with High-Risk individuals returning to the community after incarceration.

O4C brings together program staff, community volunteers, and men preparing to leave prison(and recently released) in a collaborative group setting, providing support and encouragement during their transition back to the community Research shows that community mentoring programs reduce recidivism. OC4 is very proud of Norma Ziegler’s role during her time as the Amicus O4C Program Coordinator.
