MACV Employee Spotlight – Kurt Johnson

Feature Story

This week we are featuring Kurt Johnson.

Kurt is currently serving in the Minnesota Army National Guard, and almost each generation of his family has served in a branch of the U.S. Military since the Revolutionary War! At MACV, he is the Metro Regional Director.

For Kurt, one of the most rewarding parts of working at MACV is being inspired “by this team’s creativity and their ability to find solutions to complex problems. Their holistic approach to helping Veterans aims to not just help a Veteran find housing, but find a path forward to ensure they never go through a housing crisis again”

“Most of us are one bad day away from a financial or housing crisis, and some of our Veterans have had a bad year. Sometimes they’ve had several bad years. The work we do doesn’t focus on their past, but helps our Veterans envision what their future can be.”  Kurt Johnson

Kurt previously served Veterans through his work at the federal government but frequently ran into service gaps. He recognized MACV’s ability to fill these gaps and became a part of the team.

Outside of MACV Kurt enjoys spending time with his family, working in his shop, and camping up on the North Shore.

Kurt, we thank you for continuing to serve our country and community!
