Veterans Day on the Hill 2025: 800+ Veteran Voices Demanding Action

Causes, Feature Story

On April 9th, 2025, more than 800 Veterans and advocates packed the Minnesota State Capitol for Veterans Day on the Hill 2025, led by the DAV Department of Minnesota. The rotunda echoed with purpose.

Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) was proud to stand with those who have faced homelessness, fought through barriers, and continue to push for meaningful change.

Our very own Tim Peterson, a Housing Stability Case Manager, joined a powerful lineup of speakers who laid it out clearly: Veterans in Minnesota are still experiencing housing instability, and the time for action is now. Tim spoke from the frontlines—about the real challenges Veterans face, the urgency of stable housing, and what it means to meet someone where they are and walk with them toward a better future.

We’re closer than ever to ending Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. Progress is real, and lives are changing—but we can’t afford to slow down. We can not let this moment pass quietly. We will not allow our Veterans to be sidelined or used as political bargaining chips. Call your representatives and tell them that ending Veteran homelessness is a priority! Click here to learn more about how cuts will shatter Minnesota’s Veteran homelessness response. You have the power to stop funding cuts that have been unanimously supported by the House Veterans & Military Affairs Committee.
