The Robin Expands Housing Options for Veterans

Today, MACV and our partners celebrated the ribbon cutting for The Robin—14 new units of housing for Veterans in Robbinsdale.
MACV is a national leader in Veteran homelessness response. In Hennepin County, homelessness for Veterans is now rare, brief, and non-recurring. We should be proud of that progress. But housing is only part of the solution—long-term success depends on keeping systems aligned, responsive, and ready to meet the needs of those who have served.
The Robin is a key part of that system. It fills a specific need in the pathway to long-term stability, providing safe, permanent homes with on-site case management, mental health support, employment resources, and a strong network of community connection.
Projects like The Robin don’t happen without collaboration. We’re grateful for the strong partnerships between state, county, and city governments, philanthropy, and local neighbors. Special thanks to our key funding partners—Hennepin County, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, The Home Depot Foundation, Minneapolis Foundation, and the Hennepin Continuum of Care—for making this project possible.
We were honored to have Representative Ilhan Omar, Robbinsdale Mayor Brad Sutton, and Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Lunde join us to speak at today’s celebration. Their leadership and advocacy help keep this work moving forward.
Every community should ask: What can we do to make sure no Veteran is left behind? In Robbinsdale, The Robin is our answer.
