Runners on a Mission: Housing Stability for Minnesota Veterans

Supporting Veterans means more than honoring their service—it means walking with them through the challenges that can follow, including homelessness. That’s why the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is here: to help Veterans find long-term stability and a place to call home.
This year, several dedicated individuals, including many active duty servicemembers, are running in the Twin Cities Marathon Weekend to raise funds and awareness for MACV’s mission.

One such individual is David Nguyen, an Army Veteran and MACV Subsidy Director. David is running the full marathon and is grateful for the opportunity to raise funds to support Veterans and their families as they exit homelessness in Minnesota. Donate to David’s run here.
MACV Training coordinator Jared Hendler, currently serving in the Minnesota National Guard, is taking on his first full marathon. Help Jared reach his fundraising goal here.
Nita Martin is running the 10-mile race, and supporting Veterans is close to her heart. With two children currently serving in the U.S. Army and another honorably discharged, her dedication is personal. Contribute to Nita’s campaign here.
10-mile runner Ben Safratowich is proud to support MACV’s mission of ending Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. Back Ben’s efforts here.
Christian Vetter is running the marathon both to support Veterans and to take steps toward a healthier life. Show your support for Christian here.
Marathon runner Ev Karlen is running on Team MACV because supporting Veterans is personal for him. With close friends and family who have served, he knows the stability and support Veterans deserve, and he’s running to help make that possible. Cheer on Ev with a gift here.
Megan Yee, currently serving in the Minnesota National Guard, is running her first marathon on Team MACV. She has seen firsthand how MACV shows up for servicemembers in the community, and that inspired her to join the team. Join Megan’s effort by donating here.
Marathon runner Christopher Bokum, an active-duty Coast Guard member, has a heart for Veterans. He is inspired by generosity and hopes to see more Veterans connected to life-changing services through MACV. Support Christopher’s run here.
Chris Holl is running the marathon because she believes shelter is a basic human right. She is running to thank Veterans for their service and to help ensure every Veteran has a dignified place to call home. Help Chris make an impact here.
10-mile runner Gabriella Hedberg is running for Team MACV in support of making Veteran homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring in Minnesota. Give to Gabriella’s run here.
Kylee Ploessl is running the marathon to assist Veterans who are at risk of homelessness. Stand with Kylee by donating here.
Lastly, you can support 10-mile runners Adam Harrington and Kate Baber, and marathon runners James Fladhammer, Katy Rudolph, and Sofia Gossard by donating to Team MACV here.
