Recognizing a Leader in Media and Mission: Patrick Armijo

Feature Story

A heartfelt thank you to WCCO for their ongoing partnership and dedication to our mission. The highlight of a recent planning meeting was honoring Mr. Patrick Armijo with the Minnesota Superior Service Award.

Patrick serves as the Assistant News Director at WCCO-TV and has been a driving force behind the Home for the Holidays campaign since its launch in 2018. Working closely with MACV, Patrick has helped shape one of the most successful CBS affiliate charity partnerships in the nation, raising more than $4.9 million in six years to combat veteran homelessness, including over $906,000 in 2024 alone.

His strategic oversight and production expertise transformed the campaign from a seasonal event into a trusted, year-round initiative connecting Minnesota Veterans and National Guard members with vital housing, employment, mental health, and legal services.

Patrick’s ability to craft authentic, mission-driven stories has inspired hundreds of new supporters—including 337 first-time donors in 2024—and brought greater visibility to the challenges Veterans face and the solutions that make change possible.

We were proud to join WCCO and the Minnesota Twins in celebrating Patrick’s leadership and honoring the spirit of partnership that fuels this work. From the stories we share to the lives we help rebuild, this collaboration shows the powerful impact media can have when paired with purpose and compassion.

To Patrick, thank you for your unwavering commitment to telling the stories that matter. And to our partners at WCCO and the Twins, thank you for standing alongside MACV as we work to end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota.
