MACV’s 3rd Annual Summer Salute: Connection, Community, and a Clear Path Forward

Feature Story

MACV hosted our 3rd Annual Summer Salute at CHS Field in St. Paul—and it was our biggest and most impactful event yet!

Summer Salute is more than a resource fair. It’s one of the most powerful ways we connect directly with Veterans facing housing instability. It’s a day where services come to the people, barriers come down, and real help happens in real time.

We were honored to welcome 77 service providers and community partners to the event—each one offering same-day support for Minnesota Veterans and their families. From housing and healthcare to legal aid and employment, every booth helped someone take a step forward.

This work doesn’t happen without people. Over 200 volunteers helped guide Veterans through the event experience, and more than 80 MACV staff from across Minnesota showed up to deliver direct services and make sure no Veteran was overlooked.

Summer Salute isn’t just about information—it’s about action. In one day:

  • Our Vetlaw team opened legal support cases for 21 Veterans, helping address barriers to housing, employment, and benefits.
  • 32 Veterans in need of housing assistance were connected to services—six of whom had slept unsheltered the night before.
  • Dozens more accessed help with healthcare enrollment, employment readiness, and financial stability.

To everyone who made Summer Salute possible—thank you. Whether you volunteered, sponsored, shared the event, or showed up ready to help, you made a direct impact in the lives of the Veterans we serve. You helped us reach Veterans who didn’t know this kind of support was out there. You helped us show up with the right resources at the right time. And you helped us send a clear message: no Veteran in Minnesota should face homelessness alone.
