MACV Employee Spotlight -Stef Staudohar

This week, we are featuring Stef Staudohar!
At MACV, staff across the state work every day to connect Veterans and their families with stable housing and the services they need to move forward. Stef is part of that work as an Intake Coordinator for MACV’s North team.
In her role, Stef handles initial contact screenings, coordinated entry assessments, and HMIS data entry, helping ensure Veterans are connected to the right services from the very first point of contact.
Stef was drawn to housing services after working at an emergency shelter, where she saw firsthand how difficult it can be for people to move from shelter to stable housing.
“What drew me to MACV specifically was the opportunity to help Veterans and their families find long-term housing stability.”
Before joining MACV, Stef worked in crisis homes supporting adults living with serious and persistent mental illness and later at a domestic violence shelter in Duluth. She originally planned to become a special education teacher, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, she began exploring work in human services and discovered that the field aligned with her passion for helping people navigate difficult moments.
Stef also has a personal connection to military service through her family. Both of her grandfathers served in World War II, though they rarely spoke about their experiences.
What she finds most rewarding about working at MACV is the range of services available to support Veterans and the strong collaboration with community partners that helps make that work possible.
Outside of work, Stef enjoys reading and crafting, especially horror and thriller novels. She’s currently working on several bedazzling projects and often helps her fiancé, a filmmaker, on the sets of his projects. Stef also shares her home with a cat named Doodle and hopes to adopt more cats in the future. This summer, she and her mom are also planning to tend a plot in a community garden, where Stef is excited to try growing some of her own food.
Stef, we thank you for your service to our community!
