MACV Employee Spotlight – Kate Brune
This week we are featuring Kate Brune.
Kate is the Development Associate for MACV, focusing on the grant’s portfolio. She “transitioned into this career path following roughly ten years of direct service work in human service nonprofits in the Twin Cities, Chicago, and California’s Bay Area.”
“Ending Veteran homelessness is important in its own right. However, people without strong ties to the Veteran community need to understand the value of ending homelessness in this target population. Ending Veteran homelessness is a great litmus test to learn how to end homelessness for underserved populations represented in the Veteran community like BIPOC, seniors, people with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community, etc.” Kate Brune
Kate shared that she finds our mission’s achievability motivating because MACV “can directly speak to how this mission evolved, the sound reasoning behind it, and evidence-based practices to make the end of Veteran homelessness happen.”
Outside of work, Kate enjoys chasing her two kids around, baking, doing crossword puzzles and reading.
Thank you, Kate, for the hard work and passion you bring to our team!
