MACV Employee Spotlight – Jordyn Kromminga

This week, we are featuring Jordyn Kromminga.
Jordyn is our new MACV Grants Manager. She is passionate about securing affordable housing because as a young mother it helped her to build the foundation that her family needed to stabilize themselves and then to thrive.
Before joining MACV, Jordyn managed the YMCA’s Youth Independent Housing program, leading a team serving unhoused young adults and families while also contributing to efforts like the 2020 Census encampment count and the Logan Park Shelter Initiative. She’s deeply rooted in her Northeast Minneapolis community, having served on multiple neighborhood boards and staying active in local advocacy.
“We are all neighbors and community members regardless of our housing status. Everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home. Trauma affects our lives in many ways. I am a big believer in trauma informed care, harm reduction, and meeting folks where they are at to help them live their best lives.” -Jordyn Kromminga
While Jordyn, is not a Veteran herself, she has three brothers who are Marines. Her dedication to supporting opportunities for others others to live their best lives led her to MACV. She is quite passionate about community, community care, and supporting people, especially those who have faced challenges and systematic barriers. Jordyn shared she is “very excited to be a part of this amazing team who is doing great community work.”
Outside of work, Jordyn stays active—lifting weights, swimming, biking, running, snowboarding, skiing, longboarding, camping, and hiking, anything that gets her moving and outdoors. She’s also a creative who writes, paints, makes glass and beadwork, draws comics, produces music under the name ana mahcity, and is an “advanced beginner” cook and gardener.
Jordyn, we thank you for your service to our community!
