MACV Employee Spotlight – Amy Wicklund

Feature Story

This week, we are featuring Amy Wicklund.

With a strong passion for customer service, Amy’s career began as a hairstylist and color trainer for Elizabeth Arden salons before transitioning to healthcare as a health unit coordinator. Over 17 years in the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, she worked in roles in Primary Care, the Post Deployment Clinic, Fisher House, and Specialty Care, dedicating herself to supporting Veterans and their families. At MACV, Amy is a Client Intake & Information Specialist and finds her role at MACV to be one of the most fulfilling and challenging positions she has ever had.

“It takes a village to help fight Veteran homelessness. We are all “Battle Buddies” in the critical mission to spread the word about resources and support our Minnesota Veterans.” -Amy Wicklund

Amy comes from a military family, starting with her grandfather, who served in the Army Air Corps. Amy finds assisting Veterans and seeing the difference stable housing makes in a Veteran’s demeanor to be the most rewarding part of working at MACV.

In addition to working at MACV, Amy still works as a hairstylist and has volunteered at our Winter Salute event! She is a proud mother to her daughter and a Red Bone Bloodhound who can ” search” out anything they put under his nose! Outside of work, Amy loves to spend time at her cabin in Wisconsin, especially in the summer. She also enjoys cooking and doing DIY house projects.

Amy, we thank you for your service to your community!
