Sometimes our veterans need more than just a “thank you for your service”.  That’s why we created the Salute to Servicewomen Golf Classic.  This flagship event honors ALL women veterans AND also gives more than just a “thank you” to those who find themselves homeless after leaving military service.

In 2022, Salute to Servicewomen Golf Classic raised over $41,000 that went directly into completely transitioning 10 women veterans from homelessness to stable housing at an average cost of $4,100 per veteran. This included providing rent support, down payment, moving fees, insurance waivers and other moving costs through the services of the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), a 501(c)3 organization. In total, MACV supported a total 1,400 veterans, including over 150 women veterans, to reach their goal of eliminating veteran homelessness.

The 2023 event will continue to support the unique needs of women veterans and their families provided by MACV. These could include providing transition costs from homelessness through to stable housing, furnishing new housing units including MACV’s innovative Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and single family homes used by female veterans, supplying move-in kits, etc. And again this year, 100% of the funds raised through this event go to direct services, not operational costs.
