Minnesota Heroes Day at the State Capitol
Tour the magnificently restored Capitol Building and honor Minnesota’s military veterans, public safety officers and citizens who over the history of our State sacrificed their very lives while saving others and securing and preserving our freedoms and way of life.
At each of the veteran, war, and public service memorials on the State Capitol grounds, representatives will provide attendees with an understanding of the selfless sacrifice and the ultimate price that so many Minnesotans have made on our behalf. Though not represented by a memorial on the Capitol grounds, Minnesota citizens who have been recognized nationally for saving lives will also be recognized and honored. It is all of Minnesota’s heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in sustaining our societal and cultural values in keeping our state and nation strong, safe, and free who are forever deserving of our ongoing honor, respect, and remembrance.
This event is sponsored by the Minnesota Medal of Honor Memorial which has the ongoing educational and inspirational mission of supporting our nation’s Medal of Honor recipient’s legacy of youth character development that is grounded in the virtues and values of courage, sacrifice, integrity, commitment, citizenship and patriotism. Tours of the Capitol building run on the hour for 45 minutes with the last tour at 2:00. Families, our youth, and the general public are encouraged to attend, all information and handouts are free.
