Four Chaplains Day
Four Chaplains Day, also known as the “Immortal Chaplains Day,” is observed to honor four U.S. Army chaplains who sacrificed their lives during World War II. The chaplains, belonging to different religious denominations, displayed remarkable courage and selflessness as their ship, the USAT Dorchester, sank in the icy waters of the North Atlantic on February 3, 1943.
