Building Community Relationships at the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless Conference

MACV was proud to take part in this year’s Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless Conference, Facing the Moment: Building Community Relationships, held this year in Rochester. The annual gathering brings together housing advocates, service providers, and community leaders from across Minnesota who share a commitment to ending homelessness in our state.
Our own Amanda Hooper represented MACV through two engaging sessions: Healing Together: Building Trauma-Informed Community Relationships and Serving Those Who Served: Enhancing Human Services for Veterans in the Community. Both sessions explored practical ways to strengthen trust, collaboration, and understanding within human services—especially when working alongside Veterans who have experienced trauma or housing instability.
Amanda’s presentations reflected what guides our work every day: relationships are at the heart of progress. By centering trauma-informed care and partnership, we build stronger networks of support that help Veterans find and maintain stability.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate with so many dedicated leaders and organizations working to build stronger, more compassionate communities across Minnesota. Together, we move closer to a future where every Veteran has a safe, stable place to call home.
