Lenny is getting ready for his new role at MACV, and he already has a lot of fans.

He’s one year old, full of heart, and currently training with Believet Canine Service Partners, a Minnesota-based nonprofit responsible for preparing him to become the Facility Dog for MACV’s Veteran Village in Eagan. Believet’s mission is to provide service dogs for American military Veterans living with PTSD, TBI, and other disabilities. Their dogs are an essential part of a Veteran’s healing journey — offering unconditional support in difficult moments and helping restore independence, dignity, and connection.

While Lenny won’t serve a single Veteran directly, his training comes from the same high standards Believet uses for their service dogs. He’s learning to stay calm in busy spaces, bring comfort during stressful moments, and help create a steady, grounded environment for the Veterans who will live at Veteran Village.

This spring, Lenny will officially move into Veteran Village, a first-of-its-kind MACV community with 22 units of supportive housing for Veterans and their families who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. When he arrives, he’ll help make the Village feel even more welcoming — greeting residents, joining staff during visits, and being a gentle, steady presence for anyone who needs a moment of calm.
