MACV Employee Spotlight – Shane Rubel

Kim North
March 18, 2024
Feature Story, Housing

This week, we are featuring Shane Rubel.

Shane has a Master’s Degree in College Counseling and worked with at-risk students at St. Cloud Technical & Community College. Then, he got a similar job at the local Community Action Partnership (Tri-Cap) as the Veteran Representative, working with Veterans experiencing homelessness. That job led him to MACV seven years ago. At MACV, Shane is a Senior Housing Stability Case Manager in the North Region.

“Keep in mind, there are always more homeless people living in the community than what the numbers suggest.” -Shane Rubel

Shane finds “working as a team with the VA and other community service providers to house Veterans experiencing homelessness” the most rewarding part of his job at MACV.

Outside of MACV, Shane works on restoring JAMES BOND 007 movie vehicles 1-2 times a year in the Chicago, IL area, which he has been doing for 26 years. In addition, he has starred in 5 JAMES BOND spoof movies as the main villain. He also has a lifetime collection of STAR TREK, JAMES BOND & BATMAN collectibles, comic books, toys, figures, movie props, etc, and often finds himself sneaking backstage at events to meet rockstars.

Shane, we thank you for your service to our community!
