MACV Employee Spotlight – Sara Beebe

This week, we are featuring Sara Beebe.
Sara holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice. While she is not a Veteran, her grandfather served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Before joining MACV, Sara spent many years with the Department of Corrections, where she witnessed firsthand the difficulty of leaving prison with no support.
“Homelessness and criminal justice involvement are deeply interconnected. Veterans who experience one are at significantly higher risk of the other. In Minnesota, nearly half of the Veterans who access homelessness prevention programs have past or current involvement with the criminal justice system.” -Sara Beebe
At MACV, Sara is the Justice Involved Veteran Case Manager. She works with Veterans who are incarcerated and need assistance re-entering the community. Sara finds witnessing a previously incarcerated Veteran getting a job or finding permanent housing to be the most rewarding part of the job.
Sara has three kids, and together as a family, they enjoy traveling, movies, plays, and hanging out with their dog at the dog park. She also likes trying new restaurants with her boyfriend and following Taylor Swift around on tour.
Sara, thank you for your service to our community!
