Tee it Up for the Troops
The 2020s have shaken up nonprofit giving in a major way. Many in-person fundraising events shut down for more than a year due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, one in-person fundraising event has thrived: charitable golf tournaments. Tee It Up for the Troops has taken this tradition in the golfing community and run with it.
Founded in 2005, Tee It Up for the Troops has a vision to help active duty service members, Veterans and their families from all branches and all conflicts to heal, transition, grow and thrive. To accomplish their goal, Tee It Up for the Troops has donated over $11,000,000 to partnering Veteran support organizations since its founding.
MACV regularly benefits from the specialized expertise held by Tee It Up for the Troops, which gifted us with more than $30,000 in 2021. The VSO hosted tournaments in Mankato, Golden Valley, and St. Cloud. MACV also benefitted from their annual Salute to Servicewomen event sponsorship.
These funds help MACV direct financial support towards identified critical areas of need in the Veteran community. Tee It Up’s approach to supporting Veterans means that we can all have a fun time while supporting the warriors who need it the most.
