MACV Veteran Story: Michael

“Without MACV, I’d be homeless.” -Housed Navy Veteran Michael
Michael joined the Navy hoping to see the world and build a better future. After his military service, finding stable employment proved difficult, and as the cost of living rose, making ends meet became more challenging than ever.
When Michael connected with MACV, he found a team that helped him navigate resources, stay connected to support, and remain housed while working toward greater stability.
“MACV has been tremendous. I’m grateful,” Michael shared.
This summer, Michael attended Summer Salute for the first time. He explored employment opportunities through Helmets to Hardhats, received a free haircut, and connected with organizations offering services and support for Veterans across Minnesota.
Today, Michael remains housed and continues moving forward with the support of MACV. He stays connected with MACV through employment services, outreach events, and continues working toward a more stable future.
When asked what he would say to another Veteran facing similar circumstances, he didn’t hesitate.
“Reach out to MACV.”
