Feature Story

“I am so grateful for MACV and Wood-N-Hearts for changing my life.” – Housed Air Force Veteran John

John is incredibly grateful to have been linked to MACV. “I’ve never been so blessed,” he shared. John worked closely with his MACV case manager, who was able to help him find an affordable place and assist him with making his house feel like home. John could also furnish his new home with a generous furniture gift, thanks to Wood-N-Hearts. The nonprofit’s mission is to provide furniture to Veterans rebuilding their lives, like John.

Mark and Susan Schuler of Wood-N-Hearts delivered and assembled the bedroom set for John and shared that their goal is to “set these Veterans up for the rest of their lives.” MACV is proud to partner with Wood-N-Hearts to provide stability and furnishings for Veterans in Minnesota. With continued community support, MACV looks forward to helping even more Veterans transition from homelessness.

John is now settling into his new home and creating a stable life for himself. This generous furniture gift propelled him in the right direction. Minnesota has seen a great victory in restoring one Veteran’s life due to organizations like Wood-N-Hearts offering support – ultimately giving communities a chance to come together and create meaningful change!
