MACV at Military Appreciation Day at the 2025 Minnesota State Fair

Feature Story

The Minnesota State Fair is always a highlight of summer, and this year was no exception. For MACV, it’s more than just an event—it’s a chance to connect with our community, share our mission, and honor the Veterans we serve.

The day began in a meaningful way with Jon Lovald speaking at the Veterans Garden Ceremony. His words grounded us in why we do this work and reminded everyone gathered of the ongoing effort to ensure Minnesota Veterans have the housing and support they need.

Throughout the day at the fair, we were able to meet with donors, community members, and Veterans from all across the state. Every conversation—whether it was someone sharing their own story, asking how to get involved, or simply thanking us for being there—reinforced the strength of this community. The fair gives us the unique opportunity to connect face-to-face with people who care deeply about making sure no Veteran in Minnesota is left without stable housing.

We are grateful to the Minnesota State Fair for continually inviting MACV to be part of this tradition. The fair not only provides a space for fun and celebration but also creates a platform where Veterans are honored and where organizations like ours can connect with those who want to help.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to talk with us this year on Military Appreciation Day. Your support fuels our mission and ensures that together, we can keep moving closer to ending Veteran homelessness in Minnesota.
