DESCRIPTION:The PIT Count will begin Wednesday\, Jan. 24. Veteran Service Organizations will have a 24-hour Command Center located at the VA Community Resource and Referral Center in Minneapolis. \nTo immediately connect Veterans with the 24-hour Command Center\, please call: 612-313-3240 \n***Please call prior to arriving at the Command Center*** \n***Number can be used outside of the Metro to discuss services*** \nStaff at the Command Center will be equipped to provide the following services: \nImmediate Veteran service verification (this includes National Guard and Reserves\, regardless of one’s length of time in the service or the discharge they received).\nImmediate transportation to Command Center.\nScreening for Veteran Programs – this could include\, but is not limited to:\nRental subsidy programs (HUD-VASH\, Shallow Subsidy\, and MNVEST).\nGeneral wellness services.\nA hot meal and shower.\nVeterans experiencing unsheltered homelessness in the Twin Cities Metro Area are welcome to call the Command Center on January 24th for a ride to the Center and to discuss services.\nService providers and volunteers conducting PIT Count Surveys should be prepared to connect unsheltered individuals who identify as Veterans with the CRRC Command Center.\nVeterans willing to come to the CRRC Command Center will receive a $10 gift card.
