DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Wild will host a Minneapolis-St. Paul Hiring Our Heroes Hiring Expo on Thursday\, March 14 at Xcel Energy Center beginning at 10 a.m. The expo is a hands-on career planning event designed to connect members of the local military community with military-ready employers. The first 125 veterans in attendance will receive two free tickets to the Minnesota Wild vs. Anaheim Ducks game that night. Additionally\, the first 50 military community members to register will receive complementary parking at the RiverCentre Parking Ramp. \nOver 50 companies from around the region are expected to attend with jobs available for military community members and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies participating in the event range from America’s largest employers to dozens of smaller companies. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring resumes and will have the opportunity to: \n\nAttend an interactive workshop\nHear insider tips from hiring managers and recruiters\nLearn about online tools designed to translate military or volunteer experience on a resume\nBuild a professional network\nFind out about certifications required to segue into high-demand careers\n\nHiring Our Heroes is a nationwide grassroots effort to help veterans\, transitioning service members\, military spouses and caregivers achieve economic stability through meaningful employment. DESCRIPTION:The Vietnam War Era Last Man Club of St. Peter will present a program for Veterans and community members on March 29\, 2024\, beginning at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium of the St. Peter Community Center in observance of National Vietnam War Veterans Day. \nNational Vietnam War Veterans Day was approved by Congress and by Presidential Proclamation for March 29\, 2017\, and every year thereafter. The program will include music selections by the Minnesota Over 60 Band\, a welcome from St. Peter Mayor Shanon Nowell\, and a keynote address by St. Peter native John Ahlstrom\, Class of ’64\, a Vietnam Veteran serving in U. S. Army Intelligence. \nThe Last Man Club will present a wreath during the program honoring the seven St. Peter Veterans\, and all Veterans\, who lost their life fighting in the Vietnam War. Immediately after the program\, the wreath will be placed at the St. Peter Veterans Memorial in Minnesota Square Park in St. Peter. \nFollowing the program\, American Legion William R. Witty Post #37 will host a free-will offering meal and continued comradeship in recognition of National Vietnam War Veterans Day. \nThe public is invited to participate in all of the observance activities.

The 4230 Irving Ave N. home will also feature a one-bedroom ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) \nThe Housing for Heroes project is a collaborative partnership between the Housing First Minnesota Foundation\, Lennar\, and the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).
