Finding a place to call home is a challenge for many, but it can be particularly daunting for seniors and Veterans. That’s why the grand opening of Nolte River Place Apartments is not just an exciting milestone but a beacon of hope and inspiration for these communities.

Nolte River Place is a newly constructed apartment complex featuring 80 affordable housing units designed for seniors aged 55 and above. This development offers a range of housing options to accommodate seniors of varying income levels and abilities. The goal is to provide a comfortable, secure community where seniors can age gracefully. One of the standout features of Nolte River Place is its collaboration with the MACV. This partnership has dedicated eight units to formerly homeless senior Veterans. These Veterans will receive essential services and support through this initiative, ensuring a stable and affordable living place.

June 6th, 2024, the Nolte River Place Apartments officially opened its doors—a momentous occasion that brought together community leaders, partners, and residents. Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) and Volunteers of America-Minnesota (VOA-MN) have worked tirelessly on this project, and their dedication culminated in a celebration filled with hope and camaraderie. The grand opening saw attendance from several notable figures, including VOA’s President and CEO Mike King, Executive VP and COO David Nisivoccia, and VOA MN/WI’s President and CEO Julie Manworren. Their inspiring words highlighted the importance of community support and social responsibility in making this project a reality. Assistant Commissioner of Minnesota Housing, James Lehnhoff, also spoke, underscoring the state’s commitment to affordable housing.

Following the speeches and ribbon-cutting, attendees were invited to tour the new property. This provided an opportunity to see firsthand the high-quality apartments and amenities that Nolte River Place offers.

The grand opening of Nolte River Place Apartments marks a significant milestone in our community’s efforts to provide affordable housing for seniors and Veterans. This development is a shining example of what can be achieved through collaboration and commitment.
