2024 National Coalition For Homeless Veterans Conference
Veteran homelessness is a critical issue that must be addressed with urgency, compassion, and a collaborative spirit. That’s why the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans Conference served as an essential platform for sharing innovative ideas and best practices that can help end this crisis. MACV’s Allie Andersen, Lindsey Hofer, Amanda Hooper and Sara Riegle, presented at the conference to share their expertise, experience, and insights on homelessness prevention, community collaboration, and sustainable solutions, and one MACV staff member received a scholarship from the Bob Woodruff foundation to attend the conference. Everyone made the most of their time in Washington, D.C!
“The 2024 NCHV “Together We Will” conference provided an opportunity to share the success of Minnesota best practices, network to learn from other communities what is working, and participate in learning sessions designed to provide knowledge and resources towards ending Veteran homelessness.” -Nathaniel Saltz, MACV Chief Program Officer
During the conference, Sara Riegle, MACV Vice President of Property Operations, and Allie Anderson, Senior Property Manager, presented on relationship-based property management.
“This year was my first year at NCHV, and it was truly a great experience to see so many organizations from across the country come together to learn, educate, and collaborate on how we can all continue to work to end Veteran homelessness. It was a very valuable experience that I hope more from MACV and many other organizations will get to participate in.” -Allie Andersen, MACV Senior Property Manager
Lindsey Hofer, our MACV Statewide Program Director presented on How Money Management Interventions Impacted the Work. Her presentation focused on MACV’s Financial Capability program that is designed to provide Veterans with the tools and resources they need to achieve financial stability and independence. This program offers a range of services aimed at improving Veterans’ financial literacy, managing their finances effectively, and accessing essential financial support.
Amanda Hooper, MACV Senior Outreach Specialist, presented as a part of a panel focused on trauma informed care Veterans, programs and organizations.
