MACV provides assistance to veterans throughout the state.
More than 10,000 veterans contact MACV each year.
Approximately 800 become clients (in addition to their families) who are served comprehensively through MACV assistance programs.
MACV serves veterans, both men and women.
In 2008, over 870 veterans (clients) received various services. Following is the overall dempgraphic breakout for MACV clients:
- Men – 90%, Women – 10%
- Veterans with families assisted – 30 to 35% of the total clients
- Veterans from conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq – 15% of the total (although the number is rising)
- Veterans with a disability – 67% of the total clients
MACV provides a structured assistance program giving the veteran support once again to become a productive member of the community, confidence to rebuild relationships and knowledge that the community recognizes and cares about them and their services to our country.
