Kathleen Vitalis receives 2009 JOHN FISCHER ROTARY HOPE AWARD

Pictured left to right are Metro Staff Case Manager Doran Hocker, MACV Board of Directors Vice Chair Doug Jones, MACV Executive Director Kathleen Vitalis, incoming President of the Rotary Jim Nelson, and Building 47 client Robert.
The Rotary Hope Award is presented annually to an outstanding individual or group outside of our club that has significantly demonstrated Service Above Self to help people in need and give them hope.
Established in 1987, the award is intended to recognize and honor people and organizations that are not generally well known. They are people who work unselfishly and tirelessly … often behind the scenes and at great personal sacrifice. The Rotary Hope Award is named in honor of John Fischer, who headed a committee from the Minneapolis “Number 9” Rotary Club to charter our club in 1985. John was also well known for his work in the community, especially helping non-profit organizations.
